Library Rules
Guidelines for fair use of libray

All the faculty, staff and students are members of the institute library
-
Members desirous of using the library are requested to mark their visit
by punching their ID-cards on biometric machine at the main entrance of the library.

All personal belongings of the users (bags, books, etc) should be deposited
at the property counter at the main entrance of the library.

All the members must maintain silence inside the library.

Students have to maintain highest order of decorum inside the library.
Members who misbehave in the library or misuse the library facility will be
subjected to disciplinary action.

Students are required to handle books and reading material very carefully.
Marking with pencil or ink in the books, tearing the pages or spoiling the same
in any other way will be viewed seriously. In such cases, the last reader will be
held responsible unless he brings in the notice of the Librarian at the time of issue
that the book had been previously marked or damaged. In the event of damage of any kind,
the last Members are liable to compensate the Library for causing damage to the books, in
a manner similar to lost book.

Only one book can be borrowed by the member of the library on each borrower ticket and on
production of identity card and borrower ticket in case of student members.

Reference books, journals and their back volumes will not be issued to members.

Books borrowed by student members should be returned back to the library on or before the
expiry of 21 days .The due date will be stamped on the due date slip at the time of issue. If
the book is retained beyond the due date, a fine of Rs.1/-per day will be collected for the first
ten days and there after Rs.5/- per day.

Borrower’s tickets are not transferable.

Members should not sub-lend the books

The librarian may recall any book at anytime even if the normal period of loan has not expired.

If a book is lost the member will be required to pay twice the current market price of the book lost.

All the tickets must be returned to the librarian, when a student leaves the institute. A penal
fee of Rs.50 (Rupees fifty only) shall be charged for each missing ticket.

The librarian may refuse to issue books to those who violate library rules.
