Library has been continuously providing video lectures to the students of NPTEL Courses since year 2008. For this, Institute bought 200 Video Lectures for Rs. 1 Lakh in the year 2008 when NPTEL Video Lectures were not open access. Students have been accessing these video lectures through the digital library. In the year 2014, video lectures from Phase- 2 of NPTEL Courses were stored in 8 terabytes hard disk to provide the latest content to the students. At present, 18000+ video lectures are available in the central library.The Librarian is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the SWAYAM-NPTEL local chapter in SKIT and the library continuously motivates its users for the MOOCs courses.

• Publicity of MOOCs courses with in students and faculty members
• Conduct awareness workshops on MOOCs Certification courses inside campus to all students and faculty members
• Motivate students to join courses and register for exams
• Give feedback on the courses that were offered, suggestions on what they would like to see, etc
• Nominate faculty as Mentors who can extend help to students
• Make arrangements within the college for either lab facilities for students to access the material online or download the content and let the students know about it.

SWAYAM PRABHA
The SWAYAM PRABHA is a group of 32 DTH channels devoted for telecasting of high-quality educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the GSAT-15 satellite. Every day, there will be new content for at least (4) hours which would be repeated 5 more times in a day, allowing the students to choose the time of their convenience. The channels are uplinked from BISAG, Gandhinagar. The contents are provided by NPTEL, IITs, UGC, CEC, IGNOU, NCERT and NIOS. The INFLIBNET Centre maintains the web portal.Library provides to access facility to its users for SWAYAM PRABHA 32 DTH Channels

Video Storage & MOOCs support Service
NPTEL video lectures are highly beneficial to the students for deeper understanding of the subject. The library has around 8TB of NPTEL video lectures in HD quality. Students can bring their device and copy them for later use. Approximately 400+ users have been facilitated by this service.
IITs organizes online certification courses through NPTEL. The registered candidates are required to submit assignments. On successful completion of the courses and passing on-line examinations, certificates are provided. To facilitate user to do these certifications. SKIT library has allotted 10 computers in the NET LAB with high speed internet facility dedicated for this purpose
